Preventing Cybersecurity Breaches for Retirement Plans

Date: November 21, 2024

Time: 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm EST

In the age of financial wellness, personalization, and advice, it’s all about the data. With access to information comes the need to understand the practical application of guidance related to protecting plan sponsor and participant information.  The Department of Labor (DOL) issued guidance on cybersecurity in 2021 and again in 2024.  The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and other regulatory bodies have also issued guidance on cybersecurity and privacy that applies to many financial professionals.

This session will include two experts that will cover both the practical and legal/compliance issues related to cybersecurity.

By the end of the session, attendees will be able to…

  • Identify the risks associated with cybersecurity breaches.
  • Understand an overview of the cybersecurity guidance that applies to both plan sponsors and financial services firms.
  • Learn methods those with access to participant-related data are using to create their cybersecurity infrastructure.
  • Hear action items for 2025 and beyond given the nature of evolving threats.

This live webinar is currently pending approval for one (1) hour of Continuing Education (CE) credit for Fi360, CFP Board, and IWI Designations.
